- ★ ☆ ☆ ☆ ☆I paid a $1000 retainer and this lawyer booked more than $3000 (triple my retainer!) worth of hours over a 6-month period before sending me a billing statement. When I questioned him why he filed an unnecessary motion with the court and why he didn't notify me when my retainer was depleted, he withdrew from representation.
